Current COVID situation.

I am happy to work with clients online for those who wish to do so. I am also seeing clients face to face too, this is subject to the usual 2 metre distancing, sanitising etc. If you are displaying any symptoms or someone close to you is, then face to face cannot take place until there is an all clear. I am happy to discuss this further when you contact me.

Hi, I am Richard and I am an experienced qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor.

I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy,(BACP) as a member of this body I work to their ethical framework for good practice, and this means I will work safely and ethically with you my client, and I always put your best interests at the forefront of our work together.

Entering into therapy/counselling can be a daunting feeling for many people, therefore it is important to me that you the client feel that you have a safe place in which to explore the difficulties you are experiencing, and that our working relationship is based upon trust, confidentiality and a non judgmental alliance.

I believe that I can, and do provide all of these qualities to my clients as well as warmth, understanding and empathy. It is also important to me that the work together is at a pace that is comfortable for you.

The feedback I receive a lot from clients, and colleagues alike is that I am Calm, approachable and a safe pair of hands.

I work one to one with Adults, from rooms in Barnstaple & Bideford North Devon, and try to offer flexibility in appointment days and times.

I can also offer online sessions with clients via skype, Zoom, Teams etc. Please email or call, or leave a message, to discuss making an appointment. I aim to respond as quickly as possible but within 24 hours, except at weekends.

• I am currently the National Counselling Lead for Sodexo Healthcare UK, as well as a community outreach counsellor, and the Pandemic Well-being Response Counsellor with front line staff at NDDH.
